Liposuction Pill

What is a Liposuction Pill?

Liposuction is one of the most popular forms of plastic surgery in the 21st century. There has been research on the speculation that a liposuction pill will stop blood supply to fat cells. While it might cause substantial weight loss during the first month, whether or not it is safe has yet to be determined. The test subjects so far have been mice. There are supplements and unsubstantiated claims of pills being able to increase metabolism and increase fat burning potential, but they are controversial, to say the least.

The Dangers of Ephedra

A great concern is because of ephedra’s return in pills and potions. A recent decision from a judge ruled that ephedra (in small doses) was not harmful. In fact, it has remained legal in Canada, as long as it was not combined with anything else. The claims of ephedra-based supplements being marketed as a liposuction pill may be looming on the horizon. For more information about the ephedra ruling, one has only to surf to their favorite search engine and type in, “Ephedra is Back” (without quotation marks). The results will be 1.58 million articles.

Watch Out for Web Site Offers

Web sites offering a liposuction pill are trying to convince the overweight, slightly heavy and morbidly obese that one or two tablets a day will burn fat, without the use of diet and exercise. To those who want the immediate result of weight loss without doing the work, the cost of a liposuction pill, no matter how high, is an incentive.

The Downfall of a Quick Fix

When a quick fix is offered, people will convince themselves it will work. There are even advertisements boasting, “If you are just looking to lose five or six pounds, this is not for you.” Advertisers know that suggesting a diet supplement or enhancement is not for some people who want to lose weight will only lure them into purchasing. What’s more, when they complain about the liposuction pill not working, they have an instant “out,” because they can claim their advertisements warn that the product “isn’t for them.”

A Pill Isn’t the Answer

Ephedra is not the answer to morbid obesity, nor is it necessarily a healthy ingredient for weight-loss supplements. Being found “not dangerous,” is not the same as being found to be healthy or useful, and the general public should know that there is no dietary liposuction pill. Liposuction is a surgical procedure, complete with possible complications and side effects.
